The Preferences Center in Mailchimp is where your subscribers may choose their marketing preferences rather than unsubscribing. There is a common issue where some people don’t see the Preferences Center in their Mailchimp account.
Below are the steps to follow if you don’t see the Preferences Center in your account.
Note: The Mailchimp Preferences Center can’t be used if you have GDPR enabled for your Audience.
- Login to Mailchimp
Login to Mailchimp as you normally would.
- Check Preferences Center
Click the ‘Audience’ icon to the left of the screen. If you don’t see ‘Preferences Center’ listed near ‘Surveys’ and ‘Inbox’ then continue to the next step.
- Unpublish your website
Click the ‘Website’ icon to the left of the screen. Then click ‘ Settings’. Change the ‘Site status’ field to ‘Unpublished’ (if your website is currently published).
- Enable the new builder
Click the word ‘Website’ (above ‘Domains’) to the left of the screen then click ‘Go to the new builder’ which is to the right of the screen.
- Publish your website
Click ‘Review and publish’. Note that if you don’t want your Website published you must still publish your website for the Preferences Center to work then you can immediately unpublish your website.
- Check Preferences Center is now available
Wait a few minutes then click the ‘Audience’ icon to the left of the screen. You should now see ‘Preferences Center’ listed near ‘Surveys’. You are now able to get your subscribers to choose their email marketing preferences.
