As a Mailchimp Expert, I’ve found the program to be very beneficial for my clients. Mailchimp is really good at applying the three months free to my clients accounts and do so quickly. How it works is that I provide services to my Mailchimp client and my client pays me. I then submit the invoice and confirmation of payment to Mailchimp who then apply the credit.
Please be aware that Mailchimp won’t upgrade your subscription and then apply the credit. What I mean by this is that if you use a free Mailchimp account then don’t expect Mailchimp to upgrade your account for you then apply the credit; Mailchimp will credit you at your current subscription. I’m also not sure if Mailchimp credits pay-as-you-go accounts and I assume that they’ll only apply monthly subscriptions. It’s worth reading about the Program to get a better understanding.

- Find an expert
Check out our list of Mailchimp Experts at https://experts.mailchimp.com . Choose an Expert with the appropriate skill set. Email them and explain you’d like to work with them as part of our program.
- Agree on project scope and cost
Determine exactly what your Expert’s going to do and how much they’ll charge.
- Send your paid invoice to Mailchimp
Once your project is complete, ask your Expert to send Mailchimp a copy of your paid invoice. We’ll apply 3 free months to your Mailchimp account.
Keep in mind that you can also get a 10% discount off your Mailchimp subscription each and every month just for being security conscious.
