Do you use Xero? Did you know that it is possible to automate your marketing? Imagine your new customers getting a postcard in the mail welcoming them (without you having to do a thing!). Or perhaps you want to have an email sent automatically to remind customers to repurchase after six months. Or what about your customers seeing a Facebook advert if they haven’t purchased from you in the past three months. Yes, all this automated marketing can be done if you use Xero as your accounting software.
Integrating Xero with Mailchimp
I’ve been working with several of my customers lately in connecting Xero with Mailchimp (I’m a Mailchimp partner). The integration involves the data from your new Xero invoices (paid or unpaid) being transferred to Mailchimp. Included in the data are the following Xero contact fields; Contact Name, Primary Person Email Address, Primary Person First Name, Primary Personal Last Name, Postal Address, Last Invoice Number, Last Invoice Date, Last Invoice Amount and a variety of other fields.
Get More Sales from your Customers
Once the data has come through from Xero (it takes a few minutes for data to be automatically copied to Mailchimp) it is possible to create the marketing magic.
Mailchimp is an all-in-one marketing platform that can be setup for marketing automation. Once your customer and basic invoice data are in Mailchimp then various marketing activities can be triggered. Common triggers and marketing automation include:
- Send an email containing a discount code to all customers who spend above a certain value in a single transaction.
- Deliver a physical postcard to all customers who haven’t purchased for six months.
- Create a welcome email for all new customers.
