For years I have run a collection of WordPress Websites that attain and publish content automatically using the WP-Robot Plugin. I mostly use the Plugin for publishing amazon.com affiliate related content however have also experimented with posting content from Clickbank, Youtube, Ebay, Flickr and Twitter.
The Plugin has worked really well until recently however, a few months back, most of my Sites running WP-Robot stopped publishing. Also, the ‘Next Post’ field in WP-Robot -> Campaign all showed a date and time of 01/1/1970 00:00:00. The wp-cron was running fine but that damn ‘Next Post’ date and time was stuck in the disco era and posts weren’t created when the cron executed.
How to fix the WP-Robot 01/1/1970 00:00:00 Problem
I searched for months to find out how to make WP-Robot get and publish content again. Almost all forums and articles recommend disabling Plugins as it is suggested that this error is usually due to conflicting Plugins. I found the solution that has worked on all my implementations of WP-Robot in one of the Black Hat World forums and posted by Oliva999.
Here is how WP-Robot was fixed for me:
- In your WordPress Dashboard go to WP Robot 3 -> Campaigns
- Click Edit under the Campaign you want to fix
- Remove any empty lines in the Keywords text area and change the value in the Post every field (change this to any value. If you don’t change this then the empty lines int he text area won’t be removed …. weird but true)
- Click Update Campaign to save changes.
The ‘Next Post’ field should now contain a value slightly in the past or future and content should again be posted via the WP-Robot Plugin.
P.S. In my search for a resolution I notice that a few people were mentioning that the ManageWP Plugin was causing WP-Robot to fail. All my WP-Robot Sites are managed via my ManageWP account and have the ManageWP Plugin installed and it was not ManageWP causing the problem.
