A few days ago I started to write a blog post about a simple way of inserting Google adverts (Google Adsense) into a WordPress website. After installing countless Google Adsense WordPress plugins for customers I’d just had enough of the complicated ways to insert adverts. I hadn’t finished writing the post when I heard that the Google Adsense for WordPress problem has been solved.
Yes, Google have developed a plugin called Google Publisher Plugin that is free for download and use (however is still in beta). I’m using the plugin on my WordPress Tips website and I already love the plugin.
As can be seen from the image above, once the Plugin is activated and your Google account is authenticated, adding adverts is as simple as using the GUI to place an advert. It really is that simple and adding an advert is all done from within WordPress (no more having to setup the Google Adsense ad then copying information and adding that code to a WordPress widget).
Right now the plugin makes adding Google Webmaster and Adsense easy. It’ll be interesting to see if Google extend the plugin to include other Google services such as Google Analytics (much as WordPress has done with the Jetpack plugin). I certainly hope that Google continue to advance and develop the plugin as it’s already very helpful.
