How to Automatically Add First Name into a Mailchimp Subject Line
Subject line personalization increases email marketing open rates. These instructions describe how to quickly add the first name for each contact into a Mailchimp email campaign subject line.
Go to create your subject line.
When creating your email campaign, in the campaign editor click “Add subject”.
Add your subject line
In the “Subject” field enter your subject line as you normally would.
Add the first name merge tag
In the “Subject” field enter “*|FNAME|*” (without the quaotation marks) where you’d like the first name of the recipient to appear.
Save the subject line
Click “Save”.
Note: Remember to set a default first name merge tag value before sending your campaign.
