Did you know that Mailchimp can filter out-of-office replies for email campaigns that you send? The instructions below show how to setup Mailchimp to remove your contact’s out-of-office replies. When enabled you’ll stop receiving out-of-office replies however will continue getting genuine replies to your email campaigns.
- Login and access settings
Login to your Mailchimp account then click your name to the top right of the screen and click Account.
- Access your account details
Click Settings then Details.
- Manage automatic replies
Scroll down the screen until you see the Manage Automatic Replies heading. Click in the Reject automatic replies to my campaigns checkbox then click the Save button.
Note, this setting is only available for paying customers of Mailchimp.
I have a question… I actually want ‘out of Office’ replies, its gives me the opportunity to put a new contact in the list
for example it might say
‘Justin Price has now left the business, please email ‘Stevewright@focuwmediauk.com’ with any further questions’
it used to do this on most of my mailers, but has recently stopped
The OOO replies can be useful, can you switch them back on?
@Justin, if you want the out of office replies to be sent to you then don’t enable (or disable) per the instructions above. Mailchimp doesn’t filter out of office replies unless you enable per the instructions above.
