I often get asked during Mailchimp training, how a user knows which subscribers have been successfully imported by Mailchimp. Mailchimp provides two simple ways of knowing which email addresses have not been imported into your list and the reasons for any issues.
Mailchimp import report from the Dashboard
As long as you know where to look then finding the results of your subscriber imports is easy. Follow these instructions:
- Login to Mailchimp.
- Click Lists.
- Click your list name.
- Go to Manage Subscribers then Import History.
Mailchimp import report via email
When you perform an import into a list, Mailchimp will send you a summary report via email. An example is shown below.
Your list import is complete.
A total of 43287 emails have been successfully added to the list, ‘YOUR LIST NAME’, on the account YOUR ACCOUNT NAME.
However, we encountered the errors below:
1597 emails were already subscribed to this list.
16 emails had syntax errors. Learn more about syntax errors.
95 emails unsubscribed from this list and can’t be re-added.
12 emails hard bounced from this list, so they are not valid for import.
118 emails were invalid or looked role-based (like [email protected]) and couldn’t be imported.
Download the attached files to view subscribers who weren’t imported.
