I get lots of comments on my YouTube Mailchimp videos and in my Mailchimp help articles with Mailchimp email senders images not opening in Apple iOS. Here is one such comment I received today:
“I need help with …. A new problem with images on Mailchimp emails for apple device recipients. Since last week’s iOS updates, this problem has cropped up with multiple recipients. Images do not automatically appear, and users receive “load images” messages.”
Unfortunately this is an Apple setting that we, as senders, cannot change. Only the recipient can change this setting on their device. This is a common issue unfortunately and the only way I know of making email images automatically load in Apple iOS it to go to Settings -> Mail -> Privacy protection and then turn off Protect Mail Activity as well as any toggles under this heading.
Recent changes to the way that iOS and Gmail receive email has resulted in all sorts of issues. One of these issues is false reporting of email marketing campaign open rates as I discuss in the video below.
