There is a simple way to calculate the best time to send your email marketing.
To get the best open and click rates for our email marketing we need to know when the best time of day is to send a campaign. The time of day to send, and the day of week, varies depending on our contacts and our services and products.
- Estimate the day of week where your recipients are most likely to buy your service or product (e.g. if you are a B2B business and sell steel to the building industry then sending on a weekend won’t be a good fit).
- Estimate the time of day that the recipient is most likely to make a purchase with you.
- Send your email campaign on that day and at that time.
Note: People typically open an email message within an hour of receiving the message. People however are unlikely to revisit the email at a later time. By using the formula as above we have a good chance of getting our campaign in front of our contacts when they are ready to make a purchase.
