Recently I purchased a Dell Vostro 470 desktop computer (I think Dell products are great). It’s a great PC but I noticed that network performance (including Internet speeds) were very slow compared to other computers I use. I performed various tests with Lan Speed Test software and confirmed that it was a problem with the Dell Vostro rather than a general network problem. Another error I noticed is that there were frequent network ‘dropouts’ which resulted in Internet Page load errors (by the way, I tested network performance from the PC using wireless and wired network access).
How to fix the Vostro Network Problem
Fortunately it’s really simple to resolve the problems. All I did to fix the problem is:
- Disable Bluetooth (go to Device Manager and Bluetooth may be disabled there)
- Change the Power Plan to High performance
Since performing the two steps above my network speed has improved dramatically and, for example, watching YouTube videos in HD doesn’t cause buffering.
