Google provides some awesome services, many for free. Unfortunately Google can at times be slow to correct problems with software and services …
I moved from using Dropbox to Google Drive in the early days of Google Drive. I use Gmail, Google Docs and many other Google services so the integration that Drive provides is great in concept. The problem is that using Google Drive on a PC is akin to watching paint dry; it’s pitifully slow, makes Windows drag to a crawl and uses memory and disk resources like crazy.
I’ve been using Ubuntu Linux lately and love it. For whatever reason Google has been dragging it’s heels in making a Linux version of Drive available. I signed a petition to try to get the Google Drive team to make a Linux version available. Anyway, after pulling almost all the rest of my hair out with frustration at the inefficiency of Google Drive on Windows I decided to create an Online petition.
The petition is titled Google Drive: Improve the performance of Google Drive for Windows. Included is a Google coloured version of a tortoise to reflect the lack of speed of Google Drive.
Here is the description of the petition to the Google Drive team:
Google Drive sucks the will to live from Windows. Google Drive memory usage and disk activity is often extremely high. Please Google, decrease the stress levels of people having to stare idly at their screens whilst Google Drive slows PCs to a crawl!
